Rest day: e-biking on shepherds' plateaus

First of all, e-bikes are AWESOME! When planning our trip to Slovenia, I read about the high mountain plateaus with summer villages which shepherds have been using forever to graze their animals. It seemed like seeing them from a bike would be fun and even more fun on an e-bike (especially after doing some big hikes in the days before).

We got yogurt and fixings for breakfast at the market and then met up with Peter Hayes to do a fun bike tour on the plateaus. I actually got in touch with him through a Slovenian Travel  Facebook page and we arranged to meet for a ride. He does YouTube videos and here is the one that he did for our ride. He planned our route, picked up our bikes and even made the video - all for fun.

Our bike ride ended up at Hotel Jelka where we had a late lunch. The e-bikes made riding 18 miles with 2200 ft of elevation gain super easy, but we still worked up an appetite.

We headed back to our lodging and had a chat with one of the owners, Stephen. He mentioned that a restaurant in town had just been nominated for a "best value" Michelin star restaurant so Dan and I decided to check it out. Holy Toledo! The food was soooooo good! We even had a sommelier picking out the wine for us. It was fancy pants!

Even the bus stops in Stara Fuzina are super nice
